1st religious profession of Sofia as Sister Adorer: Thanksgiving

“I no longer have a heart, I gave it to my beloved and I don’t have to ask Him for it” (St. Maria Micaela).

I give thanks to the King of kings who called me to serve him in a life of Adoration and Liberation, especially today when we celebrate feast of Christ the King and Lord of the whole universe.

It is the same Lord who called me and ratifies me every day in a very particular way where He wants me to serve Him. Thank you, Lord, for calling me to be part of this great Congregational Family which today I have joined as a sister Adorer, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity. For me it is a great joy and I have only words of gratitude.

Today my heart is full of love that does not fit in my chest.

I would like to thank the Archbishop of Tucumán, Mgr. Carlos Sánchez, who is presiding over this celebration. Thank you for coming to share with us this very special moment for me and for the Congregation. To the fathers who accompany you, thank you very much for taking the time to come, because today we are also on the eve of such a beautiful feast where we give thanks to the King of kings.

I want to show gratitude to the whole Congregation that has accompanied me from the beginning of my formation, I am the fruit of your prayers, thank you for supporting me and I ask you to continue to pray for me and I will pray for you.

The Sisters who shared very pleasant moments with me: Gloria Torres, Mercedes Martinez Germán, Marina Chaco and Gladys Molina, in the Dominican Republic it was a time of learning what it is to live in community and what fraternal love is.

I would also like to thank the sisters who presided over my first steps in the community when I met them in the Congregation and who are now rejoicing at the side of their Beloved Jesus: women full of God who taught me to go forward without faltering and who I am sure accompany me here today. Angélica Ibarra, Victoria Murillo Basquet, Juana Maria Alcatuc and Soraya Matus, women who left a deep mark on me and I thank God and the Virgin for having allowed me to know them, thank you Lord.

I am grateful to what was my community during all this time of formation, to my Novitiate community where I learned to grow as a human being.

Sister Bindu Paul, an extraordinary woman, modest, humble and loving, thank you for having taught me so many things. Sister Sumi Thomas, her particular joy, understanding and patience. The truth is that each and every one of you helped me to grow every day and, above all, to continue to grow in love for Jesus in the Eucharist,

A very special thanks to the one who was my teacher in this time of acceptance and self-knowledge, thank you Sr. Maria Laura Accaputo, for her docility, her understanding, her affection and her advice. I would also like to express my gratitude and thanks to the community of Cordoba, Spain, to Sister Herminia, Sister María José and Sister Aurelia with whom I had the joy of having my apostolic experience.

Thank you, Sisters, for all that you have experienced, shared and learnt, you have undoubtedly left a very deep mark on my heart. That time in the project with the women and the workers was a time of great grace from the Lord, I can only say thank you.

I show my appreciation to all the sisters and people who follow us virtually, thank you for accompanying me in this special moment, they are for me a hug from afar.

And finally, and not because I am forgetting, but because you are the most precious thing in my life, thanks to my family. To my mother, María Eugenia González, thank you for the fact that I am the woman I am today because of her, who was my mother and father, who gave me the greatest gift of all: my 6 brothers and sisters.

Thanks to them who, although they did not understand my decision to follow Christ, they supported me unconditionally: Eugenia, Guillermo, Roberto, Gladys, Elba and Ezequiel. They are my treasure and, as a priest told me, never forget your roots because that is what will keep you in your life. Thank you for your support and unconditional love, I love you with my soul.
