Adorers and Easter: Where does Jesus rise today?

Adorers and Easter: Where does Jesus rise today? The Resurrection of Easter is the center of our faith. We celebrate that Jesus overcame death and opened a path to new life. The Catechism of the Church calls it the “Feast of feasts,” reminding us that there is no moment more joyful and full of hope for Christian people.

Because of its importance, Easter is not just the memory of what happened more than two thousand years ago—it is an invitation to look around us and ask: Where is Jesus rising today?

Where is Jesus rising today?

We, the Sisters Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, feel that this question is answered every day in our mission. Following in the footsteps of Saint María Micaela, we accompany women in contexts of prostitution, human trafficking, and other forms of exploitation and violence as they journey through their processes of Liberation.

Through the charism and mission of Adoration and Liberation left to us by Saint María Micaela, the Sisters Adorers Family desires to be a reflection of the love of Jesus, who comes to meet those who need Him most. In every woman who regains hope, in every life being rebuilt, we discover that the Resurrection is not just a promise—it is a reality, alive here and now.

Christ also rises in the everyday

The Resurrection is not something we celebrate only in the liturgy. It is alive in every act of kindness, in every simple gesture that brings comfort, tenderness, and justice. In a world often wounded by indifference, God continues to act through those who choose to love.

Jesus rises when someone listens without judging, when a hand is extended, when something is shared from scarcity. Wherever compassion blooms, wherever someone begins to believe in themselves again—there is the Risen One.

An Easter that transforms lives

Jesus is also present in those who walk alongside people in situations of vulnerability. Easter is made visible in those who fight for others’ dignity, in those who never tire of sowing justice.

The Resurrection in our mission and charism: Adoration and Liberation

This path of sowing justice is also the path of the Sisters Adorers, lived out through our charism and mission. From Adoration, we allow ourselves to be transformed by the love of Jesus in the Eucharist. From Liberation, we walk beside women with stories of pain—but also of courage. We offer them a space of welcome, support, and dignity, staying close as they begin again.

Each woman with whom we share the journey—with her story and her name—bears witness to the truth that life can always be born again, even from the deepest destruction. And that, for us, is Easter.

This Easter, see your life with new eyes

And you—where do you see the Risen Jesus? This Easter, we invite you to look at your life with new eyes. Where do you see signs of Resurrection around you? Who needs your light, your listening, your closeness today?

May the hope of the Risen Jesus lead us to live with more love, more faith, and more generosity. May we not be afraid to bear witness to His presence in the small, the hidden, the fragile. And may you, too, rise with Him this Easter season.

United in the Love that conquers death, let us continue to proclaim with our lives that the Resurrection is possible—here and now.
