Today, September 18, 2023, the XXXI General Chapter of the Congregation of Sisters Adorers was inaugurated in Guadalajara, Spain.

With the motto: “Living Communities that walk in hope”, the 29 Chapter sisters, representing those from 24 countries and 4 continents, have begun their work with a moment of chapter prayer and the greeting of Sister Teresa,  Superior General .

Around 12 PM, the inauguration Eucharist was celebrated, presided over by the Bishop of Guadalajara, Mons. Atilano Rodríguez, and animated by the choir of the Niña María school. Some sisters from the communities of Guadalajara and the Novitiate community have also participated.

Throughout the Eucharistic celebration, as all thought out this year, invoked  the Holy Spirit, bringer of new life and   the desires and dreams of God.

In this way, the Chapter sisters entered in procession to the parish of Santa María Micaela carrying in their hands a flower as the symbol of the fruit of their lives, of the lives of the sisters they represent. Upon arriving at the Altar they made the gesture of letting go of that fruit and placed a plate with a tree, which remembers the commitment to continue giving life to the Adoring Family.

Likewise, four sisters delivered on the altar the Symbols of the Creative Spirit, the four elements of nature: earth, water, fire and air, and of the Spirit of Discernment, the Word of God.

During the homily, Bishop Rodríguez thanked Guadalajara for being the place to hold the XXXI General Chapter and encouraged the sisters to open themselves to the Spirit.

At the end of the Eucharist, the choir, children invited the assembly to invoke the Holy Spirit to descend upon those present.

May the Holy Spirit and Saint Mary Micaela enlighten and help the sisters in the important decisions they are going to make, and accompany the entire Adorers Family in this XXXI General Chapter.
