August 25: We celebrate the anniversary of St. Maria Micaela’s Easter

Every August 25, the Congregation of the Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, and the entire Adorers family celebrate the anniversary of the death of St. Maria Micaela, our foundress.

Mother Sacramento died in the early hours of August 25, 1865, in Valencia, Spain. At that time a strong cholera epidemic had been declared in this country. When she heard that some of the sisters of the house in Valencia had been infected, Micaela went to that city to take care of them.

There she became irreversibly infected with the disease. Her departure to the Father’s House at the age of 55 was, therefore, another example of her life of dedication, generosity and closeness.

Before her departure, Mother Sacramento left 7 houses in Spain: Madrid, Zaragoza, Valencia, Barcelona, Burgos, Pinto (Madrid) and Santander.

Today the Adorer family around the world unites in prayer to commemorate the feast of St. Maria Micaela, giving thanks for her life and to ask to continue the charism of Adoration and Liberation of women who suffer exploitation through prostitution or other forms of exploitation that was granted to her.

On the occasion of this celebration, we invite everyone to the Eucharist that will be transmitted from our presence in Chile starting at 13 (Argentina time). You can access through this link.

We share below 3 videos prepared by the Province of America that narrate the last moments of the life of our foundress, from before arriving in Valencia and her journey to the city until her Easter, as well as her spiritual testament.
