The Novitiate Begins in Manila for Mandira and Namita
On April 5, 2025, Mandira and Namita, two young women from the Province of Kolkata, took a new step in their vocational journey by moving to Manila (Philippines) to begin a two-year Novitiate as future Sisters Adorers.
This step marks the beginning of an intense stage of formation, discernment, and spiritual deepening in consecrated life, within the charism of Adoration and Liberation of our Congregation.
Accompanied by Sr. Lissiamma Joseph, Provincial Superior of Kolkata, the young women were lovingly sent off by the community of New Delhi, where they previously completed their Pre-novitiate stage, which usually lasts 1 or 2 years.
Sr. Lissiamma ensured that the trip and the transition between stages went smoothly and conveyed to the candidates the support and blessings of the Province as they entered this meaningful phase of religious life.
In the Philippines, along with the community in Manila, the community of Angeles also joined in the initiation ceremony of the two novices to show their fraternal and prayerful support. Every gesture, every word, every shared silence was a testimony of congregational communion.
The Novitiate of the Sisters Adorers in Asia
The Novitiate community in Manila provides an environment conducive to Mandira and Namita’s formation and spiritual growth, community life, and immersion in the charism and mission of the Sisters Adorers : Eucharistic Adoration and accompanying women in processes of Liberation from prostitution, trafficking, and other forms of violence.
In 2024, Sr. Pilar Casas announced the decision to open the Novitiate for Asia in the community of Manila-Philippines, appointing Sr. Filomena Fernandes from the Province of Mumbai as novice mistress.
A Daily Renewed “Yes”
The Novitiate is not a destination, but a journey—a space where vocation is tested, refined, and confirmed. A place where the “yes” is said each day with greater awareness, freedom, and love.
Mandira and Namita are beginning a time of grace, accompanied by other Sisters Adorers, the novice mistress, and the formation community. Together, they will engage with the mission and deepen their vocational experience, understanding what following Jesus in the style of Micaela, our foundress, truly means in their lives.
The Novitiate is also a time of theological studies, and during the second year, they will undertake an apostolic experience outside the Novitiate, in another community.
From the entire Sisters Adorers family, we wish them light, perseverance, and trust in this special time of dedication, seeking, and communion.
