On October 25, 2025, Yeraldine Motta Delgado took another step in her vocational journey by making her First Profession as a Religious Sister Adorer, Handmaid of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity.
The Eucharist took place at 4:00 p.m. (local time) in the Chapel of the Sisters Adorers in Bucaramanga (Colombia), a moment of deep emotion for Yeraldine and the entire Adorer Family, who joyfully welcomed her.
On this special day, Yeraldine was accompanied by sisters from the communities of Bucaramanga, Bogotá, Pereira, Medellín, and Cúcuta in Colombia, as well as by her parents, sisters, grandparents, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Sister Teresa Valenzuela, Superior of the Province of America, received Yeraldine’s vows, while Sisters Luz Fanny Serrano Tirado and Luz Mary Giraldo García acted as witnesses, thus sealing her commitment for one year.
After the Eucharist, Sister Yeraldine and those present shared hours of joy and fraternity at an agape celebration.
What does the First Religious Profession mean?
The First Religious Profession is a crucial moment in the life of a novice. With her vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, Yeraldine consecrates herself fully to God in the Church.
With her “yes,” she becomes a Junior Sister within the Congregation, reaffirming her commitment to the religious vocation and to the Adorer mission of Eucharistic Adoration and accompaniment of women in their processes of Liberation from contexts of prostitution, human trafficking, and other forms of violence.
The Adorer Family, formed today by sisters and lay people, has worked since 1856 with women who have faced contexts of vulnerability. We focus on the promotion and social inclusion of women, restoring their dignity and offering them new opportunities for life. We are present in 24 countries worldwide, and in 2024 our Social Work served more than 8,500 women.
Testimony of Yeraldine on her First Profession as an Adorer
On this special day, reflecting on her vocational journey, Yeraldine shares these words:
“The experience of encountering the God of Mercy has undoubtedly been the springboard that has allowed me to move forward in my entire life. I always want to remember that my choice for Jesus, His Gospel, and the poor comes before EVERYTHING, and may those beside me help me to remain faithful to that. During these years of formation, I have discovered that trust, sensitivity, and sharing life are values that allow me to encounter the God who gives me life. I am grateful for the community life shared in the various communities that have welcomed me during formation, but especially for the community where I have lived these two years of novitiate. The experiences and accompaniment have helped me integrate my faith into daily life, strengthening an incarnate, serene, and committed spirituality.”
For the Junior Sister: “Living in community, with its lights and challenges, has taught me to value the beauty of fraternity, forgiveness, open dialogue, and love expressed in simple but profound gestures.”
She also highlights that “the experience with the women in the mission has been, for me, a grace-filled experience that has revealed the face of God in their stories, their pain, and their hope. Accompanying them in their process has taught me that it is not only about doing, but about being present — about sharing silence, comfort, and life. Each encounter has been a school that shapes me and confirms me in this path of dedication.”
Finally, Sister Yeraldine affirms: “In prayer, in the Eucharist, and in Adoration, I discover an inexhaustible source of love that renews me and impels me to keep walking.”
