During the month of December, Sister Pilar Casas, Superior General of the Adorers, Sister Rosaura Patiño, Vicar General, and Carmen Pascual, Consultor and Secretary General, visited some of the communities of senior sisters in Spain belonging to the Province of Europe-Africa.
The sisters of the General Government team of the Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, stayed for a few weeks at the Mother House in Madrid, Spain. From there they have been carrying out work proper to the Congregation and related to the implementation of the new General Government, elected last October in our XXXI General Chapter.
They have also dedicated part of their time to visit the communities of senior sisters of the Province of Europe-Africa, those closest to them. Specifically, they visited the houses of Guadalajara, Valladolid, Avila and Zaragoza.
The sisters who live in these communities received the affection and closeness of the General Government and their most personal greetings for the coming Christmas and were very touched by this fraternal gesture.
Throughout the different provinces of our Congregation (America, Europe-Africa, Kolkata and Mumbai) and in the delegation of Japan, we Adorers have 15 houses for elderly sisters. In these communities, the Adorers, who have dedicated their lives to the charism of Adoration and Liberation of women in vulnerable situations, receive all the necessary care from specialized professionals and also from other sisters who live with them.
For the Adorers, the care of our elderly sisters is a priority, their life and their journey are the history of our Congregation, and we recognize in them the great wisdom that comes from the experience of living.
These sisters are important within our communities, they help us to know and maintain our roots handed down by our foundress, St. Maria Micaela. With them, we continue to make history, we are all part of it and God wants us to walk this path together.
