Pastoral Visit to the Province of Mumbai
Sr. Pilar Casas, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, and Sr. Rosaura Patiño, Vicar General, are currently on a pastoral visit to the Province of Mumbai. This visit began on August 14, 2025, and will continue until November 26, with a short break in October.
Programme: Community visits, meetings, and shared work
The pastoral visit to the Province of Mumbai is a special opportunity to meet the sisters and lay staff who are part of the Adoratriz mission in this region, which includes 12 communities in India and 2 in the Philippines.
During these months, they will visit the various communities to accompany and share with the Adorers Family. Pastoral visits are privileged times to strengthen fraternal life, deepen the charism, and discern together the challenges and opportunities of the mission. Work sessions and meetings with local superiors and the Provincial Government are also scheduled.
Celebration of St. Maria Micaela’s feast and perpetual vows
On August 25, coinciding with the 160th anniversary of the death of Saint Maria Micaela, foundress of the Congregation, Srs. Pilar and Rosaura celebrated this special day with the community of Mumbai-Residence.
The programme also includes their participation in the perpetual profession of Sisters Ankita Bointur Marvi and Phulmani Majhi on August 15 in Mumbai.
The visit will be paused for a few days in September to attend to other matters in Asia.
A sign of closeness and hope
Beyond the meetings and scheduled work, this pastoral visit is intended to be a sign of closeness and support. It is a time to listen and walk together, sharing life and mission in these lands where the charism of Adorers is so fruitfully present.
An opportunity to renew the charism
We ask the Lord that the presence of Sr. Pilar and Sr. Rosaura may encourage the communities, strengthen communion, and renew hope in the shared mission with laypeople and with women in situations of prostitution, trafficking, and other forms of violence.
May this time be an opportunity to rekindle our fidelity to the legacy of St. Maria Micaela and to continue responding with creativity and commitment to the mission of Adoration and Liberation entrusted to us.
