Participation of Sr. Pilar Casas in the UISG Assembly
From May 5 to 9, 2025, Sr. Pilar Casas, Superior General of the Sisters Adorers, participated in the XXIII Plenary Assembly of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), held in Rome at the Ergife Palace Hotel.
Convened every three years, the Assembly is the consultative, organizational, and reflective body of the UISG.
This gathering, which brought together over 900 participants from around the world, was held under the theme: “Consecrated life: a hope that transforms.”
An Assembly to jointly discern the challenges of consecrated life
The Plenary Assembly is a key event for women’s religious life — a space of communion, dialogue, and discernment, where major present-day challenges are addressed.
This edition included themes such as hope as a transformative force, living synodality, and the role of religious congregations in contexts of suffering, exclusion, and the peripheries.
Over these days, experiences were shared that show how consecrated life continues to be a living witness in today’s world. Conferences, prayer moments, and working sessions offered an opportunity to listen to the Spirit’s call in a complex yet hope-filled ecclesial and social reality.
Presence of the Sisters Adorers: fidelity to the charism and shared commitment
Sr. Pilar Casas’ participation in this Assembly reflects the commitment of the Sisters Adorers to a consecrated life that goes forth — attentive to the signs of the times and faithful to the received charism.
It is also an opportunity to continue weaving networks with other congregations and to renew, from communion, the mission of serving women in contexts of prostitution, trafficking, and other forms of violence.
As a Congregation, we feel part of a religious life that seeks to embody hope, shed light in the darkness, and walk with others toward a more participatory, prophetic, and merciful Church.
