On November 14, 2025, Isis María Segura Delgado made her first profession as a Religious Sister of the Congregation of Sisters Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity.
The Eucharist took place at 5:00 pm (local time) in St. John Bosco Parish in Havana (Cuba). This essential step in her vocational journey was a very special moment of joy for Isis herself and for the entire Adorer family.
On this significant day, Isis was accompanied by friends and Adorer Sisters in Cuba.
Sister Teresa Valenzuela, Provincial Superior, received Isis’s vows, and Sisters Albeana del Carmen Arias and María Luisa Gisbert acted as witnesses, thus sealing her commitment for one year.
After the Eucharist, Sr. Isis and the attendees shared some joyful hours of fraternity at an agape celebration.
Isis’s Testimony on Her First Religious Profession
On this special day, reflecting on her vocational journey, Isis shares the following words:
“In this year when the Congregation celebrates 18 years of presence in Cuba, and as a response to the desire of the Saint that her work take root in this land (expressed to Fr. Claret in a letter from April 1857), God grants me the grace of being this first Cuban vocation. With this gift and commitment in the background, and fully aware that to whom much is given, much will be required (Lk 12:48), I make my First Religious Profession as an Adorer. I continue this journey alongside many sisters, women, and laypeople, with the certainty that I am sent by God to be, wherever I am, an instrument of His Love, His compassion, and His mercy; to be a gaze that welcomes, steps that accompany, an embrace that sustains, and a smile that restores hope to life — that hope is Jesus.
Adorer: from the Tabernacle to the heart of every woman the Lord entrusts to us, and from that very heart back to the Tabernacle where Jesus transforms our lives.”
What does the First Religious Profession mean?
The First Religious Profession is a crucial moment in the life of a novice. With her vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, Isis consecrates herself fully to God in the Church.
With her “yes,” she becomes a Junior Sister within the Congregation, reaffirming her commitment to religious life and to the Adorer mission of Eucharistic Adoration and accompaniment of women in their processes of Liberation from prostitution, human trafficking, and other forms of violence.
