In the Province of Mumbai (India), 3 Adorers’ Junior Sisters renewed their vows and 3 Adorers’ Novices made their 1st religious profession on June 15, 2024.
Renewal of vows of 3 Adorers’ Junior Sisters
Junior Sisters, Pulmani Majhi, from Rourkela, Odisha (India); Ankita Marvi and Sonal Franky Poshapir from Mumbai, Maharashtra (India); renewed their vows as Adorers.
The Eucharist, which took place at 7:00 am, was presided by Fr. Chinnaih in the chapel of the Adorers’ community in Nuvem, Goa (India). During this significant event they were accompanied by Sister Rincy Sebastian, Provincial Superior of Mumbai, Sister Elsy Chawallor, Junior Mistress, as well as by the sisters of the communities of Nuvem and Karwar. They all congratulated the 3 Junior Sisters with a song and then shared a celebratory breakfast.
Since their 1st religious profession, Pulmani, Ankita and Sonal have thus committed themselves for another year to love and serve God through the congregational charism of Adoration and Liberation. In the journey of following Jesus, the 3 Junior Sisters are in the Juniorate stage, a period prior to a definitive commitment (perpetual vows), so now they continue in formation deepening their being Adorers from the Spirituality proper to the Congregation.
1st religious profession of 4 Adorer Novices
The Novices Sarita Mudringa, from Barampur, Daringabadi, Odisha (India); Brinal Jude Botterea, from Mumbai, Maharashtra (India); and Nilima Kerketta, from Rourkela, Odisha (India) made their 1st profession as Religious Adorers in Nuvem, Goa (India).
The ceremony took place at 10:30 am, during the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Franscio Pedru, Provincial of the Jesuits, and concelebrated by 7 other priests, in the hall of the Adorers’ community of Nuvem, Goa.
Sr. Rincy Sebastian, Provincial Superior of Mumbai, was in charge of accepting the vows of the Novices. Sr. Gracy Punthenpurakal, Novice Mistress, sisters from Nuvem, Karwar and neighboring communities, their family members and lay collaborators witnessed this major event in their respective lives.
Afterwards, all these people celebrated together with the newly professed sisters with a special meal, cake cutting, gifts and blessings, all organized by the community.
Sarita, Brinal and Nilima are now Junior Sisters within our Adorers Congregation and join the mission of Eucharistic Adoration and Liberation, personal integration, promotion, and social reintegration of women in prostitution and other contexts of violence. Until their definitive commitment (perpetual vows), they will renew their vows annually.
