Parallel to the Youth Jubilee held in Rome from July 28 to August 3, 2025, with Pope Leo XIV, the Archdiocese of Córdoba (Argentina) organized the local youth jubilee on August 2 at the Major Seminary.
More than 1,500 young people participated in this day full of prayer, workshops, testimonies, and encounters, which concluded with a Eucharist presided over by Cardinal Mons. Ángel Sixto Rossi, Archbishop of Córdoba.
A space to discern and share
During the morning and afternoon, different workshops of dialogue and reflection were offered around themes such as prayer, mission, accompaniment, spirituality, the voice of Mary, and vocation. Each young person could choose the space that most resonated with them.
The vocational workshop brought together more than 100 young people and presented the motto “Tuning your desires with God’s desires.” It was guided by four verbs that mark the path of discernment: listen, understand, desire, and walk.
Through dynamics, questions, and open dialogue, the young people shared concerns and experiences accompanied by religious sisters, a priest, and a married couple who offered their respective testimonies.
The voice of the Sisters Adorers Family
The Adorer community of Córdoba was represented by Sr. Marie Thérèse François, originally from Haiti, who shared her vocational testimony marked by joy and trust in God, even in the midst of illness.
Last year, the sister became ill and went through a time of great fragility. Today, thanks to treatment and prayer, her health is more stable. “My life continues to be happy, with an inner peace that only God can give,” she said.
From the Province of America, a weekly day of Adoration was organized to pray for her healing, a sign of communion and shared hope in the Sisters Adorers Family.
Procession to the Cathedral and Eucharist
At the end of the workshops, the young people marched in procession from the Major Seminary to the Cathedral of Córdoba, carrying the jubilee cross and remembering the words of Pope Francis: “Young people embracing the Church.”
The celebration concluded with the Eucharist, in which Mons. Ángel Sixto Rossi encouraged the youth not to be afraid, to go out and meet others, and to spread hope.
Voices of the protagonists
One of the participants, Joey, shared his experience:
“The most beautiful thing was holding the jubilee cross. That gesture will always remain with me and encourages me to live as a pilgrim of a new hope.”
The 2025 Jubilee in Córdoba was, for many young people, a time of encounter, faith, and commitment—an experience that reinforces the certainty that the Church continues to be a home for the youth.
