Adorers’ Annual Report – 2024: More than 8,500 women supported around the world

Report of the Adorers – 2024 is now available. Once again, we share the mission carried out by the Adorers Family in support of women in contexts of prostitution, exploitation, trafficking, and other forms of violence.

In total, 8,583 women were supported through the different social programs we developed across 23 countries in Europe and Africa (4,711), America (2,299), and Asia (1,573).

Of these women, 7,631 were over 18 years of age, and 952 were under 18. Among adult women, the main reasons for accessing Adorers’ support were:

  • Prostitution: 3,706
  • Poverty and social exclusion: 1,613
  • Human trafficking: 902
  • Gender violence: 784

As for the underaged girls, most accessed the Social Mission from the following contexts:

  • Lack of protection: 436
  • Gender violence: 214
  • Domestic violence: 112
  • Sexual abuse: 109

At the heart of all this work is our charism of Adoration and Liberation. Every face, every woman’s story, every process started is a journey of dignity, justice, and hope.

Together with foundations and associations that are part of this international network, our Social Mission offers safe spaces, education, and empowerment for women in prostitution, trafficking, violence, social exclusion, homelessness, or addiction.

Education and Shared Mission

The social mission is supported by educational action: we have 35 schools with more than 14,000 students, and 6 hostels where young people are formed in values of solidarity.

None of this would be possible without the daily dedication of 257 Sisters, 402 volunteers, and 561 contracted professionals, who embody the spirit of Saint Maria Micaela.

A Life Given for Them

The 2024 Report is published on the occasion of the feast of Saint Mary Micaela, June 15. Her life continues to inspire our mission with these words which we make our own today:

“I have only lived for God and for them.” — Saint Maria Micaela.
