From October 27 to November 1, 2025, a group of teachers from the Congregation of the Sisters Adorers, Handmaids of the Blessed Sacrament and of Charity, participated in the Jubilee of the World of Education. This event was held in Rome within the framework of the Jubilee 2025, convened by Pope Francis under the motto: “Pilgrims of hope.”
The universal Church celebrates this 27th ordinary Jubilee in history with a series of major events dedicated to various areas of social and ecclesial life. Among them, the Jubilee of Education aimed to recognize the educational mission as a true act of hope, in which families, educators, institutions, and religious communities contribute to the integral formation of new generations.
Representing the Adorer Educational Family in this Jubilee were, from the Province of America, Charles from Venezuela (Santa María Micaela School, San Fernando, Apure) and Carlos from Chile (Santa María Micaela Technical School, Talagante.); and from the Province of Europe-Africa, all from Spain, Sonia (Madre Sacramento School, Barcelona), Juana (Purísima Concepción and Santa María Micaela School, Logroño), and Emilio and Sonia (Santa Madre Sacramento School, Málaga).
An Educational Jubilee in the Service of Hope
During this jubilee week, the pilgrims were invited to cross the Holy Door and to participate in numerous cultural, formative, and spiritual initiatives. The program was structured around the three languages of education, inspired by Pope Francis’s proposal:
- The language of the mind, expressed in conferences, dialogues, and round tables on the major current challenges of education.
- The language of the hands, through the Village of Education, a space to share experiences and new pedagogical models that enrich culture and faith.
- The language of the heart, through moments of prayer, silence, and interior experience, remembering that to educate is also a spiritual path that embraces all of reality.
The Jubilee calendar was enriched with events such as the International Congress “Educational Constellations. A Pact with the Future” and references to key magisterial documents on education: the conciliar declaration Gravissimum Educationis (celebrating its 60th anniversary), the constitutions Ex Corde Ecclesiae (35th anniversary) and Veritatis Gaudium, together with the Global Compact on Education and Culture promoted by Pope Francis in 2020.
The event culminated on Saturday, November 1, Solemnity of All Saints, with the Eucharist in St. Peter’s Square, presided by Leo XIV, who invited all to rediscover the human, spiritual, and communal meaning of teaching and the heart of the teaching vocation: to teach with love, joy, and humanity.
Adorer Presence in the Jubilee of Education
The group of teachers lived an intense experience of ecclesial encounter and communion. In addition to the official program events, on Wednesday, October 30, they participated in the traditional General Audience with Pope Leo XIV, and on the night of Thursday, October 31, they shared a fraternal gathering with Sr. Pilar Casas, Superior General of the Congregation, and the Sisters of the Adorer community in Rome.
Educating from Adoration and Hope
The participation of these teachers in the Jubilee was a concrete expression of the Adorer charism of Adoration and Liberation lived through education: forming free individuals, committed to human dignity and capable of transforming reality with hope.
