A Presence That Sets Free: Saint Mary Micaela Today

A Presence That Sets Free: Saint Mary Micaela Today

On the Eve of the Feast of Saint Maria Micaela

Saint Mary Micaela today. Every June 15, we celebrate Saint Mary Micaela, foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters Adorers. Each year, the eve of her feast offers us more than a remembrance: it invites us to return to her, to look at her life through the lens of who we are and what we live today.

Time could make her seem like a distant figure. But the opposite happens: the more we know her, the more human and relevant she becomes.

Micaela chose to love. That love led her to the feet of Jesus in the Eucharist and to the margins of the world. She loved through Adoration, she loved in the streets and hospitals, she loved each woman she accompanied in her process of Liberation with tenderness and courage. She offered her life for women in situations of prostitution, exploitation, and violence.

A Charism That Is Still Alive Today

And that is what we continue to celebrate.

Because even today, there are women who are wounded, trapped, invisible and longing to recover their dignity.

Even today, there are dark moments that only the Adoration sustains.

Even today, we need community, tenderness, fire, and freedom.

That’s why her charism is not just a legacy — it is a call.

And her feast is not just a memory — it is a mission.

Thank You, Micaela

Those of us who are part of the Adorers Family — religious sisters, lay people, volunteers, and collaborators — feel that Saint Maria Micaela walks with us. Her life, set ablaze, touches us. It pushes us to adore more, welcome better, accompany with patience, burn out without fear.

This June 15, we don’t want to simply commemorate. We want to give thanks. Return to the origin. Rekindle the fire.

Thank you, Micaela, for your way of loving.

For your rooted faith.

For your whole heartedness.

For your passion that still sets free.

Stay close, walk with your Adorers Family. Teach us to live the Gospel by walking alongside with the women in our mission.

Saint Maria Micaela, woman of Adoration, Liberation, community, fire, and Marian devotion, pray for us.
