Marie Reine’s Vocational Journey
Marie Reine, originally from Atakpamé, Togo, is 33 years old and has followed a deep vocational path for more than 10 years. She felt called by God to become an Adorer, dedicating her life to the service of God and of the most vulnerable, especially women who suffer prostitution, trafficking, and other forms of violence.
She met the Sisters Adorers in Cinkassé (Togo) in 2014 through a Benedictine monk, Brother Hippolyte. After phone conversations, she visited the community during the Easter holidays. In 2015, she lived a three-month experience with the sisters, beginning her mutual discernment and pre-novitiate stage in Cinkassé.
From November 2017 to April 2018, she completed the first year of her novitiate in the Dominican Republic. From April to August 2018, she continued in Spain, first in the Barcelona Sants community, then in Valencia, where she completed her novitiate. Before her first profession, she spent time in the Ourense community. She remained in Valencia until October 2019, then served in Salamanca (Juniorate community) and later in Cinkassé, where she currently resides.
Spiritual and Formative Preparation for Perpetual Vows
Between May and August 2025, Marie Reine has undergone a time of intense spiritual and formative preparation, including a training program between Rome and Madrid and a full month of spiritual exercises in Loyola. She used this time to deepen her vocation, community life, and service to women in mission.
Inspired by this process, she chose two quotes for this special moment: 🕊 “No one takes my life from me; I lay it down of my own accord.” (John 10:18) 🕊 “I have lived only for God and for them.” — Saint María Micaela
Marie Reine’s Testimony
“When I look back and see everything I’ve lived up to now, I can only thank the Lord for His immense love for me and the Adorer sisters for molding me patiently and generously with Him. They are both artists of the Marie-Reina, for what I am today. Love called me to be His, and the Adorer family welcomed me to be part of them and carry out Micaela’s dream: to Adore and to Liberate,” she shares in the days leading up to her perpetual profession.
What does the perpetual profession of vows mean?
The perpetual profession is a definitive step in religious life. Through it, Marie Reine gives her life to God forever, through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience—not as a stage, but as a total and lifelong consecration.
For the Adorers, this means fully embracing the charism that unites Eucharistic Adoration with the mission of accompanying and promoting the Liberation of women in contexts of prostitution, trafficking, violence, and exclusion.
