From Rome: Junior Sisters Adorers Share First Experiences on the Path Toward Perpetual Vows

8 junior Sisters Adorers — Ankita, Phulmani, Hang, Hue, Laxmi, Marie Flore, Inmaculada, and Marie Reine — have begun their preparation for the profession of perpetual vows with a formation stage in Rome.

From May to August 2025, the junior sisters are in a time of formation in Rome and Madrid. They will visit historical sites related to the origins of the Congregation and our foundress, Saint Mary Micaela, and they will get to know various Sisters Adorers communities in the Province of Europe-Africa. They will conclude this journey with a full month of Spiritual Exercises in Loyola.

This period is not only an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the spirituality and charism of the Congregation, but also a time of community life, reflection, and intercultural exchange among sisters from different countries and backgrounds.

During the first days of the program, the junior sisters participated — alongside other men and women religious — in a Eucharist at the Vatican in suffrage for Pope Francis, who passed away on March 21, 2025.

They have also shared some of their first impressions. Their words reveal, with simplicity and truth, what they are experiencing during this special moment of their vocational journey.

Joy, Gratitude, and Community: The Beginning of the Gathering

“I felt so happy to come together from different parts of the world. It will be fun, and also a deep preparation for perpetual vows. I’m grateful we are reaching out to many countries and carrying out the mission.”

“It’s a wonderful feeling to meet new sisters from India and Latin America, and to reunite with those I lived with in Spain. The warm welcome from the sisters in Italy and the care shown by the formation team makes me feel very close — like I’m at home.”

“For me, this is a time of joy — to pause, go deeper, reflect, and gather the fruits of these years in Juniorate. It’s a chance to become more aware of what I carry, to learn new things, and above all, to share this journey with sisters from diverse backgrounds. I’m also excited to visit different communities, especially those of elder sisters, where you breathe the life of the Congregation, their fidelity, their love for the mission…”

“It feels like a great gift to get to know sisters from other provinces. I thank God for the opportunity to live this experience together.”

Discovering the Richness of the Congregation

One of the most appreciated moments was the presentation of the four Provinces (America, Europe-Africa, Kolkata, and Mumbai) and the Delegation (Japan) of the Sisters Adorers.

“It was interesting to learn more about the various communities and the work they do. It made me feel part of a much bigger mission.”

“Through the presentation of the provinces, I clearly understood that each presence is a gift to humanity… we are all Sisters Adorers responding to the needs of the mission, wherever we are.”

“I feel so much joy, gratitude, and appreciation… this time is a chance to drink more deeply from the source and to learn more about the reality of our congregational body.”

“It was inspiring to see our sisters serving in different parts of the world. The spirit of Saint Micaela is alive in them — seen in their unity, sacrifices, and dedication. Their work with the vulnerable and their Gospel witness show that our charism is alive in every sister. We truly are one family, united in mission.”

What Does It Mean to Be a Living Community?

For the junior sisters, being a “living community” in the Congregation means more than simply sharing space and prayer:

“A living community is one that lives united like a family — with prayer and teamwork, respecting and accepting each other’s opinions, ideas, cultures, languages, work, and food.”

“It’s a place where faith, hope, and solidarity are not just professed, but lived every day.”

“We are not together because we chose each other, but because God brought us here. That certainty is what moves me forward.”

“Being living communities means being open to the Spirit, living the mission with the humility of those who allow themselves to be surprised by what is new — able to glimpse the beauty in another culture, to be immersed in the local reality… and above all, to live the Gospel and our Constitutions.”

This beginning of the journey toward perpetual vows is already, as they themselves express, an experience of grace. We accompany our junior Sisters Adorers with prayer and confidence that the Spirit will continue to guide each step of this process.
